Terms of Use

Thank you for using OHGO.

The Service is owned or controlled by ODOT (Ohio Department of Transportation) for the general use of the public.

Please carefully read the terms of service below as they contain important information regarding your legal rights, obligations, and limitations.

By accessing and using or account you are agreeing to the terms below.

Account and Registration

  • An OHGO account is provided as a free service with some stipulations to prevent abuse.
  • In order to receive personalized alerts you must register for an account.
  • For more information about personal alerts please see the Personal Alerts section.
  • You may sign in by registering a username and password or by using Google or Facebook sign in.
  • You are solely responsible for protecting your own account password and other account information.

Personal Alerts

  • Personal Alerts allow users to create personal routes, time frames and selection of what the user wants to be tracked.
  • While on the OHGO map users will see an option to setup and view existing routes in the top right portion of the main menu bar.
  • Once signed in, the user can create up 50 personal routes by day of the week and time(s) of day.
  • If any incident occurs on freeways along your route, during the day and time you specified, they will be displayed in the notifications section.

Deactivation and Termination

  • ODOT reserves the right to revoke or terminate your access to an account, without cause or prior notice.
  • Common reasons for termination includes but not is limited to:
    • Excessive usage or Denial of Service attacks.
    • Attempts to bypass our security and gain access to information other than what is expressly provided by the account.
    • Use the account to encourage or promote illegal activity or violation of third party rights.
    • Failure to meet any other terms of conditions.

Privacy

  • By using the account authorization you agree that ODOT may monitor your use of the account to ensure quality, improve products and services, and verify compliance with terms.
  • Account usage requires registration of a valid email address and password of your choosing, provided it meets our minimum security requirements. Alternatively you may use Google or Facebook sign in.
  • ODOT will never contact you regarding your account password information.

Cookies

How we use cookies:

  • In order to deliver personalised services and improve the site, cookies are used to store information about how you use the site.
  • Some brower options allows users to prevent the storage of cookies.
  • The site will contiue to work however some features such as account registration and login will not be available.

Liability

  • Except as expressly set out in the terms, ODOT does not make any promises about the account or personal alerts, specific functions or reliability. We provide the service "AS IS".
  • ODOT is not responsible for lost profits, revenues, or data; financial losses; or indirect special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages.
  • ODOT reserves the right to shut down the site for maintenance, change it's terms of use, or discontinue the service in total.

Communication

  • ODOT may send you communications in connection to your use with our OHGO accounts, related to:
    • Terms of use changes.
    • New version updates and changes.
    • In response to support questions or feedback.
